Veterinary Technician Team

Nicole Garner

My name is Tweak, and I am Nicole's white and grey special needs cat. Nicole is one of our Veterinary Technician team members, and has been with the Animal Hospital of Signal Mountain since September of 1995. Nicole’s special interest is inventory control and has 21 years of experience in veterinary medicine. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Nicole resides with her husband, and her two boys, as well as furry family members which include Taffy (a fat, orange tabby), Missy (a Maine Coon), Sebastian (a feisty tuxedo), Racer (a terrier mix), Tang (a dressager/hunter Quarter Horse), Luca (a Miniature Sicilian Donkey), Bella ( a Sicilian donkey), Alli (an Albino Leopard Gecko), Rifle and Scatter (both Anole lizards),and lots of fish! Nicole enjoys traveling and camping with her husband and two sons. Her favorite aspect of her job is soothing kitties with attitude!

Jeri Chauncey

My name is Oliver, Jeri's 4 year old Border Collie/Australian Shepard mix. Jeri is one of our Veterinary Technician team members. She has been with the Animal Hospital of Signal Mountain since July of 2005, and has 21 years of experience in Veterinary Medicine. Jeri resides with her husband, me and my furry siblings: Mia (a Doberman), Cooper (a Doberman), Stewie (an adorable tuxedo kitty), and Skippy( a 3 legged kitty). Additionally, Jeri has 4 chickens: Sally, Ellen, Claire, Ruby, and Ester. Jeri enjoys baking, spending time with her chickens, and traveling. Her favorite aspects of her job are animals, medicine, and the people she works with here at AHSM.

Hi! Our names are Bayla Bell, Alpine, and Connor Bear; we are all Siberian Huskies. Our owner, Katie, is one of our Veterinary Technician team members and has been working at the Animal Hospital of Signal Mountain since August of 2013. Katie holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Alabama. Go BAMA! Outside of AHSM, she enjoys hiking, camping, and music. She loves Alabama football and the Grateful Dead. Prior to living in Chattanooga, Katie spent time living in New Orleans, Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Bozeman, Montana and Atlanta, Georgia. She lives with her husband, lots of foster pups, and us (we are her kids). Katie manages the schedules for our Veterinary Technician and Assistant team and loves the clients, pets, and co-workers here at AHSM.

Katie Estes

My name is Tybalt, and Katie's cat. My beloved owner, Katie, started working at the Animal Hospital of Signal Mountain in April of 2014 as a member of the Veterinary Technician team. Prior to working at AHSM, she earned a two year certification as Veterinary Technician at Georgia Northwestern Technical College (she maintained a 4.0 GPA). She also has experience working at an exotic pets store and in large animal medicine; in total, she has 10 years experience in veterinary medicine. Katie aspires to eventually have the opportunity to teach veterinary technology. The aspect of her job that Katie loves the most is the chance to deal with complicated medical cases. Outside of AHSM, Katie enjoys composing and creating music with her band, singing, playing video games, going to concerts and local shows, reading comic books, and watching movies. Katie and I have lived all over Georgia, and currently, we live with my four sibling cats, Gembit, Twinkie, Starkiss, and Tiger Lily, as well has our dog friend, Ka

Teri Sims

My name is Boo, and I am Teri’s white Boxer. My sweet owner, Teri, is a member of our Veterinary Technician team and is the Referral Coordinator at the Animal Hospital of Signal Mountain, where she has worked since 2003. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and a Master of Business Administration degree. Teri's favorite part of her job is the satisfaction she gets from educating AHSM clients on the care and wellness of their pets. Beyond the Animal Hospital, our house is home to two additional pets: Molly ( a toy poodle) and Keety( an elderly Himalayan kitty). She has lived in the Chattanooga area for most of her life and is the mother to her handsome son and her lovely daughter. Teri's interests include Mickey Mouse, Nascar, and the Parrothead Club.

Dianne Tasker-Marques

Dianne has been a member of the veterinary technician team here at AHSM since 2010. She is originally from Toronto, Canada and moved to Signal Mountain in 2010, to be closer to her mother, brother and niece. She has also lived in Arizona, and grew up in East Tennessee helping run her father’s medical practice. She is very happily married to her husband , who is from Portugal. They have 2 wonderful dogs, Shizam (a 9 year old Great Dane lab mix) and Nietzcha (a 2 year old border collie). She enjoys entertaining, cooking, traveling and gardening. Her favorite aspects of working at AHSM are helping animals and the wonderful people she works with who she considers to be her family.

Erin Bailey

My name is Buzz and I am Erin’s sweet kitty. Erin has been a member of our Veterinary Technician team at the Animal Hospital of Signal Mountain since 2015. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Erin excels in our computer systems and is a PAW PLAN advocate. Erin enjoys her job because she loves being around animals and keeping both patients and clients happy. Erin resides with her husband, an ARMY veteran( Thank you sir!) and her son. She has three additional cats: Haz (a Manx), and Muse and Mater (both spoiled kitties). Erin has lived in Alabama, Florida, and now, Signal Mountain. Erin's interests include playing soccer, watching/attending Alabama football games (GO BAMA!), and caring for her son, especially watching him play baseball.

Tammie Barker

Tammie started working at the Animal Hospital of Signal Mountain in August of 2009, and is a Veterinary Technician team member. Tammie attended the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga and holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. She likes working with people and their pets and watching their animals flourish. Tammie resides with her husband, and her son. She also has furry kids Norman( a Shepard mix) and Sophia (a Golden Retriever mix). Tammie was born in Germany (an Army child) and has lived in Georgia and Tennessee and.Tammie's hobbies include singing (she loves participating in musicals at the Playhouse), shopping, and baking.

Shelby Kincannon

Shelby Kincannon Hi! Our names are Gabby and Charley Daniels, and we are Wal-Mart parking lot rescues. Shelby, our owner, is on the Veterinary Technician team at the Animal Hospital of Signal Mountain since March 2015. She currently is a student at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and has interned at the Chattanooga Zoo. Shelby aspires to be a veterinarian. She also has two guinea pigs, Alf Alfa and Hamlet and 3 other dogs, Budweiser (Bulldog), Grunt (Jack-Russel terrier), and Lucky ( another rescue). In her free time, Shelby enjoys kayaking and fishing, and caring for her goat. What Shelby enjoys most is the opportunity to wake up each morning knowing that she will be able to meet and find the good in each and every animal she helps and, of course, she loves the people that she works with here at AHSM!

Rachael Marie Starr

Rachael has worked at the Animal Hospital of Signal Mountain since September of 2014, and is a Veterinary Technician team member. She holds a Bachelors of Science in Animal Science and wants to become a veterinarian. Her interests include riding horses, playing video games, swimming, traveling, hiking, watching hockey (GO PREDATORS!), and attending concerts. Rachael has lived in Florida, Texas, Ohio and Tennessee. She has a Quarter/Arabian Horse named Athena and a dog named Tiki. Rachael's favorite part of her job is the compassion and care she feels being able to help out in any way possible.

My name is Gravy, and I am David’s cat. My caring owner, David, has been working at the Animal Hospital of Signal Mountain as a Veterinary Assistant since November of 2015. He graduated from Georgia State University with Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art with a concentration in Graphic Design. He has worked in animal control and an animal shelters rescue for two years before joining our team, supervising volunteers and assisting in adoptions. David has lived all over the United States. He has lived in Ohio, California, Massachusetts, Georgia, and now resides in Chattanooga, Tennessee. David enjoys spending time with his wife, movies, books, music, golf, baseball, football, and delicious food and drinks. We live with my fellow cat, Tater, and two golden retrievers, Augusta and Ramsey. David’s favorite part of working at the Animal Hospital is working hands on with the animals to keep them healthy.

My name is Polly, and I am Brooke’s German Shepard and Basenji mix. My loving owner, Brooke, has been volunteering at the Animal Hospital of Signal Mountain since 2012, but started to work as a Veterinary Assistant in July of 2015. She was born in Florida moved to Signal Mountain, Tennessee. Brooke is excited to be attending the University of Tennessee in Knoxville next fall after graduating from Signal Mountain High School. In her spare time, she loves to hike trails while listening to John Denver, listening to her record player, and playing the piano and guitar. We live at home with my fellow dog, Cleo. Brooke’s favorite part of the job is the bond that she has made with her co-workers!

Sarah Nale

Sarah joined the veterinary technician team in May of 2016. Sarah is from Dunlap where she has lived her entire life. She recently graduated from Chattanooga State Community College with an associate degree of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology. She will soon reach her ultimate goal of becoming a Registered Veterinary Technician after taking her national board exams. Go Sarah!! She has 1 dog Lilly and an adorable orange and white tabby named Thorburt. Sarah came to AHSM after doing her clinical rotation here with her professor, Dr. Jones, and falling in love with the staff and professional environment at the clinic. She hopes to continue learning every day on the job and commits herself to helping animals and owners lives better one day at a time. Welcome to the team Sarah!

Jenny Kelly

My name is Fiona, and I am Jenny’s princess. Jenny has been with the Animal Hospital of Signal Mountain since September of 2015. She attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and holds a Bachelor’s degree of Arts in History. Jenny’s family includes her husband and my brothers, 2 chocolate labs named Shamus and Guster. She enjoys running, reading, and traveling. My mom loves her job. She thinks the staff and AHSM is awesome and working with animals is the best!

Victoria-sullivan

Victoria Sullivan

We are Axle and Ruger and we belong to Victoria. Our mom has been working at the Animal Hospital of Signal Mountain since February of 2015. She is a trained Phlebotomist, and now works in our grooming salon being trained to be a master groomer. Victoria lives with her husband, her two pugs (her furry kids), and enjoys playing with animals and motorcycles. Prior to living in Chattanooga, Victoria has lived in Virginia and Pennsylvania. Victoria undoubtedly says that her favorite part of her job is working with the animals!

Ashley Brown

My name is Tessa, and I am Ashley's Chihuahua. Ashley started as a Kennel Attendant at AHSM and progressed to Veterinary Assistant and Grooming before working in Reception. Ashley started working at the Animal Hospital in July of 2011 when she came to Chattanooga to attend the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She says her favorite aspect of her job is the different animals that she gets to take care of. She likes creating Public Relations info for AHSM. Prior to moving to Chattanooga, Ashley was born in Fayetteville, Tennessee and grew up in Petersburg, Tennessee. Her hobbies include photography (mostly of nature and animals, especially C.C., the clinic cat), going to the movies, and hiking. She owns Tessa, Finn ( a Husky mix), and Independence (Indie) her three-legged cat.

My name is Macey, and I am Ginger’s Toy Poodle. My dedicated owner, Ginger, has been working at the Animal Hospital of Signal Mountain since May 1998, where she currently works as a receptionist. She attended Middle Tennessee State University and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Additionally, she also has experience working in retail, office work, and as a stay-at-home mother for 15 years. Her family includes her husband, and her two sons. I also have dog siblings: Rylie, an Australian Shepard/Lab Mix and Sidney, a Lab mix. Ginger has always lived in the Signal Mountain and Chattanooga area. She enjoys reading, being outside, and working in her yard. Ginger says that her favorite part of her job is the variety of tasks that she has the opportunity to accomplish. She is also a fan of the short commute; it provides her with the opportunity to let my siblings and me out during her lunch break!

My name is Jake, and I am Shannon’s Maltese/Shih Tzu mix. My kind owner, Shannon, has been working at the Animal Hospital of Signal Mountain since March of 2012, where she currently works as a receptionist. She has had experience working with animals since 2004, and she, undoubtedly, states that her favorite part of her job is the clients. Shannon's family includes her partner, and her step children. I also have a furry sibling, Woodstock, who is a Yorkie. Shannon enjoys live music and time with family whenever possible. Shannon has lived in many places including Florida, Alaska; Colorado Springs, North Carolina and Chattanooga, Tennessee.

My name is Sophie, and I am Selina’s Boston Terrier. My thoughtful owner, Selina, has been working at the Animal Hospital of Signal Mountain since 2010, where she currently works as a receptionist. Her family includes her husband, her three sons, and her two wonderful grandchildren. I also have two furry siblings: Bonnie ( a black and tan hound) and Tandy (a Mountain Cur). In addition in Tennessee, Selina also has lived in Florida, Massachusetts, California, Texas, and Germany. She enjoys fishing, watching birds and squirrels, and sleeping. Selina says that her favorite part of her job is the people that she works with and working with all the animals.

My name is Khan, and I am Audrey's Terrier mix. Audrey has a variety of positions at the Animal Hospital of Signal Mountain, including Receptionist and Inventory Manager. She has been working at AHSM since August of 2014. Audrey holds a Bachelors of Science in Anthropology with minors in Geography, Environmental Science, and Biology. Outside of AHSM, she enjoys reading, adventure, sleep, travel, learning new things, research and organization, laughing, and movies. Prior to this position, Audrey had 10 years experience working in various kennels. Audrey loves her job because of the animals and the animal-lovers.

Carolyn-miller

Carolyn Miller

Carolyn has been a groomer at the Animal Hospital of Signal Mountain since January of 1995. The aspect of her job that she loves the most is both the animal and the people clients. Carolyn resides with her husband of 47 years. She loves her children and multiple grandbabies.

Suzanne Haven

Our names are Zoe, Joy and Uma, and we are Suzanne’s furry kids!. Our loving owner, Suzanne, has been working at the Animal Hospital of Signal Mountain since 2004, where she is currently a master groomer. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree and has 11 years of grooming experience and over 180 hours of grooming education. Besides Chattanooga, Tennessee, Suzanne has lived in Georgia, Florida and South Carolina. We also live with a cat, Tabitha (a Calico cat). Suzanne describes her favorite aspect of her job is both the aesthetic improvement of the pets and improving how pets feel. She enjoys educating clients about the health benefits of regular grooming with pets.

Lindsay Beaty

Our names are Dex( the maltese) and Drake ( the german short-haired pointer). and we are Lindsay’s furry children. Lindsay has been working at the Animal Hospital of Signal Mountain since October of 2015, where she currently works as a receptionist. She was born in Boulder, Colorado and later moved to Kansas and Chattanooga, Tennessee. Lindsay attended Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas and focused on nursing. She lives with her husband, a veteran of the Army(Thank you sir!). Lindsay’s favorite part about her job is getting to see all of the dogs and cats coming into Animal Hospital of Signal Mountain!

My name is C.C. and three of my many caregivers are Kim, Karen, and Angie. They are kennel attendants, and have been working at the Animal Hospital of Signal Mountain for many years together. They are the life-force behind our exceptional boarding experience and each look forward to having your pet board with AHSM!

Kaitlyn Hohimer

Kaitlyn was born in Atlanta, Georgia and lived in Signal Mountain. She has 2 dogs and 1 off-the-track thoroughbred named Kiss. She has a degree from Chattanooga State with a media degree. She is inspired by her co-workers and loves all the animals she works with. She has 2 brothers, a sister and fantastic parents. She hopes to become a film-maker someday.
